KANGEN band presents its first performance in Singapore in celebration of EID or Hari Raya for one night only. Featuring guest artist, EREN, they will be entertaining you with Raya songs on top of their many hit singles including Takkan Pisah, Cinta Yang Sempurna (with Eren), Doy, Selingkuh, Tentang Aku, Kau & Dia, Tentang Bintang and Penantian Yang Tertunda.

Kangen Band was formed in Lampung, Indonesia in 2005 consists of 6 personnel namely Andika Mahesa Setiawan (Andika – vocal), Rustam Wijaya (Tama – guitarist), Dodhy Hardiyanto (Dodhy – guitarist), Novri Azwar (Bebe – bassist), Bari Alfarizi (Izzi – keyboardist) and Halim Kurniawan (Baim – drums). Their debut album, Tentang Aku, Kau dan Dia released in 2007 became a massive hit and produced 4 chart toppers, with an impressive breakthrough in the Indonesian music scene through songs requests for airplay.

Referred to as the “underdogs” in Indonesia, the band’s rise to stardom was not the result of mass media promotions or album launches but through the ever “real” problem of piracy. The music industry’s main problem became the band’s main ingredient to fame as many people bought the pirated version of the band’s cds and vcds, fell in love with their music and started to request for their songs countless times on Indonesian radio stations. This became a shocker for many industry players who learnt about the band’s songs through these fans requests.
Kangen Band released 2 albums in 2008, Cinta Yang Sempurna and Bintang 14 Hari which launched the change in their music concept and arrangement through creating an infusion between Javanese and Malay genres. 3 of the songs became an instant hit (Doy, Kembali Pulang and Yolanda) and a year later in 2009, they released their 3rd album, Pujaan Hati, which carried the hit single of the same title and Terbang Bersamaku. When their second album was released, it was rumoured that Kangen has already composed 472 songs ready for their forthcoming albums.

Kangen starred in a TV series, Aku Memang Kampungan, in 2007 which told briefly about their life story. Now in 2010, their interesting life story was turned into a movie produced by Lola Amaria and filming takes place in between their current album promotional tour across Indonesia.

Erna Tri Suryani, or better known as Eren, started her career as a background vocalist for Kangen Band under the label of Warner Music Indonesia. Sensing her potential as a solo artist, the label and her manager paved her solo career which launched her debut album Jendela Hati released in 2007. One of the singles, Kelak Kita Kembali Ke Asalnya became a hit. Eren still ensures that her solo career does not become a stumbling block to the rock solid relationship she has with Kangen whom she has regarded as family. Kangen, in turn has been giving her the support and motivation for Eren to embark further into her solo journey. Eren has gone further to produce her 2nd album in 2009 titled Perubahan and is currently in the process of making her 3rd album expected to be released by August 2010.
