Hi Bro and Sis,
Soon I will be moving to JB(actually Pasir Gudang)to work.
Just want to find out what is the general cost of living for things such as accomodation(condo/apartment),food and travelling(taxis).
I heard that JB is not safe with alot of crimes happening there.
Is this true?
Pls enlighten me.
Thanks.

Hi, geful, I think you already came here and back to Taiwan.
Actually there is not much places for you to visit in Johor, except beach. Johor has a lot of beautiful beach and island, such as Desaru, Pulau Sibu, Pulau Tioman,........for shopping, I think you could visit City Square, Jasco at Tebrau City. Meanwhile, you could take bus to these places. Bus station is at Larkin.
Dear Sara, I think you already in Pasir Gudang now, if you still need help, just let me know.

Hi Sara
Probably bit late for you as i only joined today, but it may be of interest to others thinking of coming over.
Crime - Yes as in any big city crime is always a problem but i can tell you that JB is no worse than any other, in Fact I am from Manchester in uk and feel safer here,
transport is good, I used buses before i got a car and it was very cheap, and regular.
Taxi always agree price first, I found them ok even when i forgot to agree price maybe one or two ringgit over the odds.
Shopping in JB is good and getting better with more shops opening, Main ones are danga city mall, city square, jusco tibrau, bukit indah, carefore, over at sutera Mall. tescos all over and giants.

I am also interested in learning what to expect in December. I am thinking of traveling there, but need to understand more about the safety of my family and the cost. Anyone have any ideas?
