Batu Pahat

Batu Pahat, Second major town only to Johor Bahru, this rapidly expanding town is also considered as the textile capital of Malaysia. Batu Pahat in the fourteenth century was an important waterway during the Malacca Sultanate. The Famous well Perigi (well) Batu Pahat from which the town derived its name. Batu Pahat is a regional business and conference center that is famous for its Chinese cuisine. It is also a favorite resting place for road travelers. It still retains a semblance of old world atmosphere, especially in its buildings which reflect their Asian influences and culture which meld harmoniously into this busy, fast paced town.
